The Illusion of the Single Root CauseMost people approach transformation from the viewpoint of "Why?". In other words, mostly we are searching for what is THE ONE cause of me not being how I want to be in the world. Approximately 40% of the time there are singular leverage points, that once we identify, and shift them the change we want happens. HOWEVER, it would be a mistake think that even when these singular intervention points exist that that intervention point is THE CAUSE of the "problem". A solution point is very different from the existence of a singular cause. Typically, an issue or a present state is maintained by many interrelated factors. Newtonian, and Aristotelian based descriptions, while sometimes useful and necessary, are not sufficient to describe complex phenomena such as the structure of a perceptual bias. |
